Mass Effect Statue Line Ended

Hyperchild December 21st, 2008

Bad news for all you Mass Effect statue collectors: Bioware has decided to end our production on future Mass Effect statues.

Shepard Helmetless

We thank all of you for your support and dedication on our Commander Shepard statue, we did well enough with the first one and were excited about our Saren release.

But, alas, it was not meant to be, Bioware has informed us that since there will be no new Mass Effect content until the sequel, to continue more Mass Effect products at this time would probably not find a place in the market, especially in the trying times we are heading into in 2009.

We had a blast working on what we did with Mass Effect and are proud of the Commander Shepard statue. The fact that Hyperchild was able to get out and be part of the franchise as well as interacting with all of you has been an incredible experience.

Before we turn off the lights on this production blog, we’ll post the final photos of the Saren sculpt in full view so you can have a look at the last work as well as the final tally on who would have been the third statue. The blog will go back into full gear when we are ready to announce our next big project for 2009, then we’ll bring the party back, hope you can join us as we gained so many new fans over the past year.

Happy Holidays to everyone - we’ll see you all in 2009!

PS: The above photo is of a variant “helmet-less” Shepard we were planning as well.

I knew it! …*sigh* I was really hoping to see more statues including Shepard with the correct gun placement and the addition of the pistol and sniper rifle.
My Shepard statue is currently in a glass case in my room and i won’t be removing it anytime soon.
If you start up again i’ll be back :)

Feh, I knew I would never get my beautiful Ashley statue, I’m just surprised that we won’t even get the Saren one.

And this confirms that there will be no more downloadable content to hold us over until the sequel! noooooo
I was looking forward to seeing more statues from you guys..by the way, does that mean Bioware has annulled the licensing contract? or will you be making statues again once ME2 is close to being released?

Maybe NECA or McFarlane will pick up the license to do action figures. That would be frickin sweet.

What a shame. I was hoping for a geth trooper statue.

I think you guys should make another push for the statues. The first was great, I own it and love it. But they have released a new dlc, two helpings of avatar marketplace items, a limited edition lithograph, Mass Effect: Revelation, Mass Effect Galaxy, and will soon be releasing Mass Effect: Redemption. So It’s safe to say they are releasing more content prior to the sequel. I don’t know if any of you guys (Hyperchild or the fans) are still even checking this page. I’m just saying with a release date for Mass Effect 2 locked down, maybe It’s time for round 2 of statues. I know I’d buy one!

Thanks so much for your kind words Julian. Its comments like yours that make it worthwhile.

We have nothing but great things to say about Bioware - but we have learned that another toy company has in fact secured the license for Mass Effect 2 - not sure when it will be released into the public but they will be making a plastic action figures assortment! So all that voting we did will hopefully shape what their line will become ;-)

We have all new plans for 2010 (finally) so we will keep everyone here informed on what happens next for Hyperchild.
